We don’t like the look of lines, wrinkles and sagging skin in the mirror. While we honor the rhythms of life and accept graceful aging as part of a package (of which our growing wisdom is one), we also know in our hearts that the speed at which we age (as a collective) is far too rapid. We know that with proper and holistic intervention we can look decades younger. This may sound like quite the statement; but personally I know it to be true.
When I say intervention, I do not mean any speedy and shortcut methods. I don’t mean plastic surgery. I also do not mean the latest product in the industry that promises the world. No. I mean a close look at our life for the purpose of making long-lasting changes. Healthy diet, elimination of toxic habits, stress minimization, good sleep and a skin and hair care routine made with natural and time-tested ingredients. If you have all of this implemented, I can be brave enough to say that you can begin to look younger in short time. Your skin, hair and body in general will begin a healing process that will become visible externally to one and all.
Proteins play a vital role in our external appearance and in the aging process. Our skin’s framework is made of elastin and collagen: Both proteins. Eating a healthy diet with adequate amounts of plant proteins can play an important role in keeping our skin firm and dewy. Externally having a daily and weekly skin care routine made with products rich in fatty acids can create an environment where the skin cells remain in a repaired rather than damaged state. So in that sense fats too are extremely important to keep our skin youthful and healthy.
Most precious oils like wheatgerm oil, almond oil, jojoba, rose hip oil etc are very rich in anti-aging fatty acids. So taken together I feel proteins and fats are essential to keep your skin healthy, vital and youthful for a very long time indeed.
