Depending on where you live in the world, you don’t have to look very far to get some aloe vera. For some people, it may be as close as your backyard. And, even if you don’t have access to fresh aloe vera plants in your region, it can be fairly easy to grow an aloe vera plant at home. Since aloe vera is a type of succulent, it doesn’t require as much water as a normal houseplant, and you can even use an old Apsara face mask jar to grow them in!

Yet, while aloe vera might seem commonplace, it is quite powerful and can do wonders for your skin. In fact, this natural ingredient has been used for thousands of years in Ayurveda to nourish dry skin and enhance skin glow. If you have access to aloe vera and you want to learn more about aloe vera benefits, we have just the thing for you. Today, you will learn 2 aloe vera home remedies that you can use to get even, radiant skin. Not only are these homemade aloe vera remedies simple to prepare, but they are also effective and can help you get beautiful skin in no time.

1. Aloe Vera & Almond Butter Home Remedy to Deeply Nourish Dry Skin

The first thing that comes to mind when you think of aloe vera is hydration. Since aloe vera is mostly made of water, it can deeply hydrate and nourish your skin. One of the benefits of skin hydration is reducing dryness. If your skin looks dull and lifeless, it may be because your skin is malnourished. Another benefit is reducing inflammation. When your skin is inflamed, it may look red, sensitive, and irritated. By taking the time to hydrate your skin sufficiently with a natural ingredient like aloe vera, you can keep your skin looking supple, healthy, and glowing.

The DIY skin care with aloe vera remedy below not only contains aloe vera but also almond butter. Almond butter is a good source of fatty acids that provide nourishment to your skin. It also contains protein, which is a key component to youthful skin; protein helps encourage collagen production, and you need collagen if you want your skin to be firm and elastic.

Ingredients

1 tbsp. of aloe vera gel

Smooth almond butter, as needed

Instructions

Place the aloe vera gel in a bowl and mix in enough almond butter until you get the consistency of ketchup.

Apply and massage on your skin for 2 to 3 minutes with upward circular strokes. Leave it on for 12 minutes.

Wash it off with warm water. Follow with your toner, serum, and lotion.

Use this DIY aloe vera face wash 1 to 2 times a week.

2. Aloe Vera & Apple Cider Vinegar Home Remedy to Exfoliate Your Skin

Aloe vera isn’t just good for raising the hydration and nourishment levels of your skin. It can also greatly enhance the look and feel of your skin. Aloe vera contains an abundance of nutrients that are good for your skin. Antioxidants, for example, help mitigate free radical damage that could be responsible for fine lines, wrinkles, and dullness. Plant hormones like auxins and gibberellins help increase the rate of cell turnover, which can help your skin shed dead cells faster and reveal glowing, more youthful skin in the process. There is so much to love about aloe vera, and for these reasons and more, it is an essential ingredient in Apsara’s facial lotions.

The remedy below will help tone the look of your skin and boost skin glow, especially since it contains apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is a natural exfoliant that increases cell turnover, and it balances out your skin’s natural pH, protecting it from inflammation and irritation. Just be sure not to use too much apple cider vinegar or you may end up drying out your skin.Ingredients

1 tbsp. of aloe vera gel

8 drops of apple cider vinegar (ACV)

½ tsp. of tomato juice

Instructions

Mix the ingredients together.

Apply the remedy on your skin and massage for 3 to 5 minutes. Leave it on for 10 to 12 minutes.

Wash the aloe vera scrub homemade off with warm water. Follow with a daily skincare routine based on your skin type.

Use 1 to 2 times a week.
