Makeup can be such a drag when you’re putting it on - there’s only so many times you can play off smudged makeup as a “smokey eye” - but I definitely think it is worth it in the end. Putting makeup on before you start the day is a fun, simple way to pamper yourself. When you pair your favorite shade of lipstick with the right mascara, you feel like you can take the world by storm.

Taking makeup off, though, is a different story. After a long day, I would rather fall asleep and smudge my pillowcase than trudge my way to the bathroom and scrub my face for 10 minutes straight. However, not removing makeup effectively at the end of the day leaves your pores clogged, which makes your skin prone to acne and may generate very unsettling scars that will need more makeup to hide! Plus, clogged pores can cause your skin to look dull. The last thing you want is to be trapped in this vicious cycle. This is why I always tell people to take extra care when removing their makeup.

No matter how much makeup you put on, it is important to take it off before bed each night. Even though you could scurry to your local pharmacy looking for those harsh chemical-based removers, they’ll just do more harm than good. Instead, consider using natural ingredients that help you remove the makeup and replenish your skin with essential nutrients.

So here are my 10 quick makeup removal home remedies that you can easily find in your pantry!
