Makeup can be such a drag when you’re putting it on - there’s only so many times you can play off smudged makeup as a “smokey eye” - but I definitely think it is worth it in the end. Putting makeup on before you start the day is a fun, simple way to pamper yourself. When you pair your favorite shade of lipstick with the right mascara, you feel like you can take the world by storm.
Taking makeup off, though, is a different story. After a long day, I would rather fall asleep and smudge my pillowcase than trudge my way to the bathroom and scrub my face for 10 minutes straight. However, not removing makeup effectively at the end of the day leaves your pores clogged, which makes your skin prone to acne and may generate very unsettling scars that will need more makeup to hide! Plus, clogged pores can cause your skin to look dull. The last thing you want is to be trapped in this vicious cycle. This is why I always tell people to take extra care when removing their makeup.
No matter how much makeup you put on, it is important to take it off before bed each night. Even though you could scurry to your local pharmacy looking for those harsh chemical-based removers, they’ll just do more harm than good. Instead, consider using natural ingredients that help you remove the makeup and replenish your skin with essential nutrients.
So here are my 10 quick makeup removal home remedies that you can easily find in your pantry!
1. Almond Oil for Makeup Removal and Skin Nourishment
Almond oil is a very light oil, which makes it very useful for removing makeup. Plus, the Vitamin E and fatty acids in almond oil help nourish the skin and fade the appearance of dark spots and wrinkles.
1 tbsp. of almond oil
5 drops of Vitamin E oil
Mix ingredients together in a bowl.
Using your hands, rub them together to warm up the oil.
Apply this warmed oil on your face and massage gently using a circular motion.
Use a cotton ball to wipe everything off your face.
Once you are done, use warm water to rinse your face to remove excess oil.
Follow with your toner, serum, and lotion.
You can also use this remedy to remove eye makeup.
2. Jojoba Oil to Get That Makeup Off Easily
Jojoba oil can restore your skin’s natural pH balance and unclog your pores, which makes it a great makeup removal agent and facial cleanser. Additionally, since jojoba oil is
structurally very similar to sebum (your body’s natural oil), it is an effective moisturizer so you could use it again once you finish.
2 tbsp. of jojoba oil
5 drops of castor oil
Take a cotton ball and dip it in jojoba essential oil.
Use the cotton ball to gently wipe your face and eye to wipe off the makeup.
Finally, use a wet-wipe to remove the excess oil from your face.

Aloe vera has natural properties to heal your damaged skin. Also, because aloe vera is a liquid, it can easily remove makeup and nourish your skin from within for a radiant glow.
2 tbsp. of aloe vera juice
½ tsp. of oat flour
Mix ingredients together. Let the mixture sit until the oat flour becomes slimy.
Massage your face with the mixture to remove all makeup.

Cucumber is excellent for removing makeup, excess oil buildup, and other impurities. Its natural anti-inflammatory properties help prevent acne breakouts and work really well as
a natural toner. Plus, it is very soothing to the skin, so it might be just what you need to finish the rest of your day.
2 tbsp. of cucumber juice
2 tbsp. of olive oil
Extract cucumber juice in a bowl and mix it with olive oil in a bowl.
With a fork, emulsify the mixture until it is the color of cream. Then use immediately.
Massage onto face. Wash your face with lukewarm water.
