Banana, Cashew & Apple Mask to Deeply Nourish, Even Out Your Skin

Sheetal Rawal, Founder, Apsara Skin Care

If you were wondering what top edible ingredients can come together to transform your skin within minutes, it is a combination of banana, cashew nut, and fresh apple juice. Nature is abundant in ingredients that can nourish and repair your skin as effectively as they do this for your body in general.

As a rule, if you are looking for your skin to glow and be flawless, the best and most effective way is to keep it nourished and, at the same time, keep the dead cells from building up. It is the dead layers of skin on top that prevent the inner radiance from shining through. Aside from having a daily skin care routine with natural products (which is a must), a homemade face mask can do a lot to amplify the glow of your skin while nourishing it deeply.

Oh, and did I say that perfect skin is one that is hydrated at all times? So an ideal product or face mask must quickly raise the hydration levels of your skin so it can look plump and ageless.

So here is a face mask idea that I feel is a winner. It is made with simple ingredients that, in combination, raise the hydration and nourishment levels of your skin while helping those dead cells shed quickly. Let’s get started.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of mashed banana

1 tablespoon of cashew nut puree

1/2 tablespoon of fresh apple juice

Instructions

Soak 8 cashews in water overnight. Then blend to puree. Mix all these ingredients well with a fork. Add more apple juice if needed to make this mask of a creamy consistency. Now massage it into your skin using upward circular strokes. A 5-minute massage is plenty. Don’t forget to get your neck as well. Leave on for 10 more minutes. Wash with lukewarm water. Use your toner, serum, and lotion meant for your skin type right after. Find out your skin type on this page to figure out what products are right for you.

You can use this face mask 1-2 times a week to keep your skin deeply nourished and hydrated. This mask is an excellent add-on to your daily skin care routine and very good to combat any dryness or dullness of skin as well.

"I’ve been using her products for over six months...Her products are working great for me. I’m glad I can continue to use her products."

Why and How Does This Mask Work?

Now I know a lot of you don’t want to take any information lying down. Just like me, I know you all want to know how these ingredients work. Information is power, as I say.

So let’s get into the science behind these ingredients quickly.

Bananas for Plump & Repaired Skin

Mashed banana is this squelchy goodness that your skin loves! It has a large

percentage of water which hydrates your skin in no time at all. Aside from that, it is an excellent source of vitamins C and E. Both are highly useful to reverse free radical damage to your skin. If too much sun, stress or harsh chemicals in your skin care products have left your skin damaged, then these antioxidants come to the rescue and deliver some serious repair, making unevenness, dark spots, and lackluster skin come back to life. Vitamin A in bananas is awesome to repair your skin and keep the dullness away by supporting a healthy pace of skin renewal.

Apple Juice Is a Magical Skin-Renewing Fruit

That is right. We have all heard how an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Now let’s take the health-promoting power of apples a step further and allow it to make our skin radiant

and dewy. Of course, apple juice has a significant water content that plumps up our skin and fades the look of lines and wrinkles. But it is the malic acid in fresh apple juice that delivers a serious beauty enhancing punch to our skin.

Why? Malic acid is a naturally occurring alpha hydroxy acid that speeds up cell renewal. That means skin that is not hiding its glory under dead cells that tend to promote the look of dullness and unevenness of skin.

This results in glowing skin for sure, but it also results in pigmentation and dark spots getting out of sight quickly. Who wants these skin imperfections anyway? So let apple juice do the work to beautify your skin effectively. Similarly, apple seed oil has miraculous skin renewal and rejuvenation properties. That is the reason why it is in Apsara’s ROOP Saffron Bright Skin Potion.

In this quick video, I teach you how to use oatmeal and saffron water to get radiant and even skin in 12-15 minutes. Use it 1-2 times a week and follow with your serum and lotion. Enjoy!

Cashews Deeply Nourish Your Skin

Well, we all know how nuts and nut butter promote great internal health and provide our body with good fats that are so vital for our brain, joint, and cellular health. The same concept applies to the usage of nuts in skin care.

Cashew nuts are among the richest source of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. These provide deep nourishment to the skin and can potentially support healthy functioning of skin cells so they are able to hold on to water and nutrients far more.

This is especially useful as our skin ages and begins to lose its water retention ability, making lines and wrinkles far more apparent. Good fats can promote great cell membrane health, and this is great news to keep our skin ageless and free of problems.

Cashews are also a source of oleic and linoleic fatty acids, both known to promote stellar skin health and appearance. So if you thought cashews were only to munch on, you are wrong. Your skin craves these delicious nuts as well!
