Your weight is nothing to be ashamed of. As long as you’re happy and healthy, you should take pride in yourself, no matter what your size is. And yet, many of us do experience a constant struggle with our weight. For some, the scariest part of the day is stepping onto the scale to see if there has been any progress or lack thereof. It can be disheartening to establish weight loss goals for yourself and feel like you aren’t able to fulfill any of them.

Weight loss can be difficult because you never want to compromise your health in the process. Fortunately, we would like to share with you 3 weight loss tips that are grounded in Ayurvedic principles and have been designed with your health in mind. Now that we have all become more accustomed to a “work-from-home” lifestyle, all of us have most likely gained a little more weight than we would have liked. So, whether you’re trying to lose the “quarantine 15” or you’re looking for a serious weight loss transformation, these tips can help you accomplish the goal weight that you desire. Plus, if you follow all of these tips closely, they could also help you achieve gorgeous skin and hair.

1. Improve Your Gut Health to Encourage Weight Loss, Healthy Skin & Healthy Hair

We’ve talked before about how important the relationship is between your gut health and the quality of your skin and hair, and the same can be said for the relationship between your gut health and weight loss. Your gut plays a vital role in digestion; the bacteria within your gut help break down your food and absorb nutrients from it. Your gut also creates hormones that affect your appetite; specifically, these hormones signal to your brain when it’s time to eat food (hunger) and when you should stop eating. A healthy gut containing diverse bacteria can lead to weight loss, but if there are a lot of toxins within your gut, the entire system can be upended, to the point where weight gain might occur. For example, poor gut health can lead to a change in appetite, which could affect your eating habits negatively. In addition, an unhealthy gut may make your skin and hair look more lackluster.

In order to encourage good health and potential weight loss, you must try to keep your gut clean and support the good bacteria within your gut as much as you can. One way to do so is by eating more whole grains. Whole grains such as quinoa and buckwheat are notoriously high in fiber, which improves digestion and promotes the health of your gut microbiome. There are even more tips you can utilize to repair your gut naturally; to find out what these tips are, click here.

“I have been an Apsara user for the last 3.5 to 4 years. I have to tell you that this product has by itself changed the way I feel not just about my skin but about myself in general... This product has really helped me feel good about myself because I have such beautiful skin.”

2. Make Sure That Your Diet Is All Natural & That You Eat Per Season

An easy way to promote weight loss, as well as good gut health, is to make sure that your diet consists of natural ingredients. Natural ingredients lack the harsh chemicals found in many foods that might be putting a lot of stress on your gut and making it a lot harder for you to lose weight. For example, if you want to drink fruit juice, remember that fresh is always best; it takes a lot of work, but freshly squeezed fruit juice is always the superior option. In contrast, while store-bought fruit juices are more convenient, a lot of them contain preservatives and additives that may not be so beneficial for your health in the long run.

It can be tiring trying to keep track of the natural ingredients you need to put in your diet to lose weight, so we recommend eating per season. For instance, cauliflower and cranberries are perfect to eat during the fall while you can look forward to peas and asparagus in the spring. Eating per season can inspire you to eat more local, organic food (since food tends to be fresher when it is in season) and help you lose weight in the process. On top of that, eating per season will generally make a smaller impact on your expenses so even if you weren’t interested in losing weight, this diet is still beneficial if you want to have a healthier lifestyle.

3. Don’t Stress Out About Your Weight Too Much

Some amount of stress is inevitable when you embark on a weight loss journey. Losing weight is not easy, and it is likely that it will occupy your thoughts until you get to the weight you desire. However, if you stress out about weight loss too frequently, you might see a reverse reaction where you are actually gaining weight instead. Stress adversely impacts both your appetite and metabolism. Not only are you more likely to eat more food when you are stressed, but you are also less likely to burn fat and calories as well. Furthermore, stress wreaks havoc on your complexion and may cause issues like hair fall and early aging.

Of course, if you believe stress has been detrimental to your weight loss, the clear answer is to reduce it as much as possible. However, for some people, that is not something that can be accomplished easily. If this is the case for you, you have to remind yourself why you want to lose weight in the first place and how you can create reasonable goals to achieve your goal weight. Weight loss is a long-term journey so don’t be discouraged if you encounter a few hiccups along the way. If you find yourself getting frustrated and stressed, many people have used meditation and exercise to relieve their stress. To learn other easy ways to manage your stress, click here.
