1. Baking soda

When you have clogged pores you always think about how to unclog your pores and you wish to you may have to start exfoliating your skin. Sometimes, dead skin cells can enter your pores and contribute to your skin’s congestion or they can cover up your clogged pores on the surface of your skin and cause blackheads and whiteheads to develop. A natural exfoliant that most of us likely have access to is baking soda. By gently massaging baking soda to your skin and sloughing off these dead skin cells, you can start to unclog your pores and dissolve any of the impurities inside. Plus, baking soda has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, making it perfect to fight acne, blackheads, and whiteheads. So if you are thinking about how to unclog pores on the nose, the process is again the same.

However, even though baking soda is great at unclogging your pores, you must not use it more than once or twice a week. When used too often, baking soda can dry out your skin and disrupt your skin’s natural pH balance. In turn, this can make your skin more vulnerable to inflammation and infection, and this can force your skin to pump out a lot of oil to protect itself. As a result, when you use baking soda on your skin, you must remember to nourish your skin right after to prevent dryness and keep your skin healthy. If your skin is sensitive or prone to dryness, we recommend doing a patch test beforehand in order to avoid any unnecessary irritation and redness.

2. Castor oil

Despite castor oil’s thick and viscous texture, it is a great natural ingredient to unclog your pores with. Castor oil has been used for thousands of years in Ayurveda to deep clean congested pores. Because of castor oil’s fatty acids, it can deeply penetrate your skin and dissolve even hardened sebum that could be clogging your pores; one fatty acid in particular is ricinoleic acid, which has antimicrobial properties and is perfect for cleaning your skin. Plus, castor oil is very nourishing to your skin and will help encourage softer and more supple skin.

Yet, much like baking soda, you should be careful with castor oil. Using undiluted castor oil may have the opposite effect and clog your pores instead of unclog them. If you would like to try castor oil to unclog your pores, mix it with a carrier oil like grapeseed oil or incorporate it into a home remedy.

3. Fuller’s earth

Another natural ingredient loved in Ayurveda for its pore-cleansing properties is fuller’s earth clay, otherwise known as “Multani mitti”. Fuller’s earth is capable of absorbing excess oil, unclogging your pores, and exfoliating your skin. Through regular use, not only can fuller’s earth help you maintain clean and healthy skin, but it can also minimize acne as well as reduce the appearance of dark spots, unevenness, and dullness.

Because fuller’s earth is a clay, it is very easy to use it as part of a home remedy to unclog your pores. However, just like with all face masks, fuller’s earth should only be used as part of your weekly skin care routine, about 1 to 2 times a week. So now you know with ease how to clean pores.
