Sick of your blackheads? You’re not alone. Even if you don’t normally develop acne, you may have seen a blackhead or two pop up on your skin every once in a while. One of the reasons why many people develop blackheads in the first place is oily skin. When your skin produces a lot of oil, that oil can clog up your pores, which may lead to blackheads as well as whiteheads and acne.
Blackheads are small, but it’s best to nip them in the bud now before they transform into full-blown acne. If you think that your blackheads are getting out of control, the 3 all-natural DIYs below can tame oily skin, unclog your pores, and encourage a clean, spotless complexion. So what are you waiting for? Stop picking at your blackheads and try at least one of these home remedies right away.
1. Rice Flour Home Remedy to Absorb Excess Oil & Get Rid of Blackheads
As we mentioned above, oily skin is a big factor for those concerned about blackheads. Those with an oily skin type are more likely to develop blackheads and acne than people with other skin types. Therefore, one way to get rid of blackheads naturally is to curb excess oiliness on your skin. Once you learn how to balance out your skin regularly so that it is neither dry nor oily, it becomes a lot easier to clean your skin and remove the blackheads you have at the moment. There are plenty of natural ingredients that have inherent oil-absorption properties, for example, rice flour, which may also help you brighten up your skin.
Ingredients
5 drops of castor oil
1 tbsp. of rice flour
Tomato juice, as needed
Instructions
Mix the castor oil and rice flour together. Add enough tomato juice to the mixture until you get a paste.
Apply the paste and leave it on for 12 to 15 minutes.
Wash the paste off with warm water. Follow with toner, serum, and lotion.
Use 1 to 2 times a week.

2. Baking Soda Home Remedy to Gently Exfoliate Your Skin & Remove Blackheads Safely
Another natural ingredient that can tame oily skin and get rid of blackheads is baking soda, through a specific process called saponification. Saponification turns the excess oils on your skin into soap, which makes cleaning your skin very easy for you. In addition, baking soda has other benefits for your skin. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that can help you control your acne and calm your skin down. Baking soda also gently exfoliates your skin, which can unclog your pores and leave your skin looking more youthful.
One thing you must know: baking soda may dry out your skin, especially if you use it too often. When your skin is too dry, it is more likely to be irritated and it may start producing a lot of oil to defend itself, restarting the cycle of blackheads. To prevent this, you should only use baking soda on your skin 1 to 2 times a week at most and you should always moisturize your skin afterward.
Ingredients
7 or 8 drops of castor oil
⅛ tsp. of turmeric powder
¼ tsp. of baking soda
1 tbsp. of corn or rice flour
Rosewater, as needed
Instructions
Mix the castor oil, turmeric, baking soda, and flour of your choice together. Add enough rosewater to the mixture until you get a thick paste.
Apply and leave the paste on for 10 to 15 minutes.
Wash it off with warm water. Follow with a daily skin care routine based on your skin type. Click here to find out what your skin type is.

3. Turmeric Home Remedy to Get Rid of Blackheads & Enhance Skin Glow
Turmeric has long been used in Ayurveda to enhance skin glow and beautify the skin, but it can also help those with blackheads and acne. Turmeric won’t be able to absorb excess oiliness on your skin like the other ingredients in this article, but it is an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory natural ingredient due to the curcumin compound found in it. Turmeric can get rid of the impurities within your pores, remove the blackheads on your skin, and, over time, minimize the appearance of acne, redness, and swelling. Plus, due to its skin-brightening properties, turmeric can even out your skin and fade the look of acne scars and marks.
Ingredients
⅛ tsp. of turmeric powder
15 drops of orange juice
2 tsp. of rice flour
Aloe vera juice, as needed
Instructions
Mix the turmeric, orange juice, and rice flour together. Add enough aloe vera juice to the mixture until you get a thick paste.
Apply and leave it on for 12 to 15 minutes.
Wash it off with warm water. Follow with your toner, serum, and lotion.
Use 1 to 2 times a week.
