Here is a very simple homemade remedy to help reduce the appearance of dark circles. Use it 1-3 times a week and follow with your eye serum to revive and revitalize the eye area.

2 TSP fresh cucumber juice

3 TSP pure rosewater

1 TSP brewed black tea (cool)

1/8th tsp turmeric powder (CAUTION: anymore and you could stain your skin!)

1/4th tsp instant coffee

Mix well and immerse 2 cotton balls in this mix. Wring out any excess so this mix does not get into your eyes. Gently apply on your closed eyes. Lie down. Take off these cotton compresses in 15 minutes and then wipe off the eye area with some rosewater or plain water. Apply your eye serum right after.

The eye area poses a major skin care challenge and that is under eye dark circles. This issue is perhaps the most stubborn of all. Certain ethnicities are more prone to developing dark circles. Genetics appears to be at play. But many other factors also come into play.

These are fortunately under our control and adjusting our lifestyle can have positive effects.

I highly encourage everyone to choose a high quality and natural eye serum and apply it am and pm to help with dark circles, puffiness, crow's feet etc. Since the eye area is so delicate it is very important that we exercise utmost caution while choosing the right product. Sticking with an eye care routine consistently is the key.

Some other useful and effective tips to keep the eye area healthy and free from dark circles include getting enough sleep,

installing an anti-glare screen on your computer monitor in case your work calls for long hours on your computer, dimming the brightness button on your monitor, wearing a pair of polarized sunglasses when outside. Other than all these keeping your stress levels under check is key. So is adequate nutrition. Are you getting enough trace minerals and vitamins? The answer to this question is very important when it comes to your general health and the health and appearance of your skin (including the eye area).
