Chickpeas are a significant staple of world cuisine and have been used for thousands of years to make simple, enjoyable meals. This is evident by the fact that chickpeas have many names based on the culture that uses it: garbanzo beans, gram, chana, et cetera. No matter what you call it, we can all agree that chickpeas are nutritious and full of flavor; hummus and falafel are a few noteworthy, mouthwatering examples. And yet, you don’t have to limit chickpeas to just the kitchen.

When you turn chickpeas into a fine powder, do you know what you’ll get? Chickpea flour! Sometimes known as besan, chickpea flour is capable of beautifying your skin. Chickpeas can enrich your skin with vital compounds that help brighten it up and minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Here are 3 chickpea flour masks for glowing skin, instantly. No need to go to the store to buy chickpea flour; if you have a blender or a food processor, you can grind up those chickpeas thoroughly and get started on these DIY remedies right away!

1. Chickpea DIY Mask for Glowing Skin Without Any Lines & Wrinkles

Even if you aren’t actively building muscle, you need protein because it is a fundamental part of healthy, youthful skin. Collagen and elastin are two proteins that are responsible for the firmness and elasticity of your skin. Though your body is capable of producing collagen and elastin by itself, production naturally slows down as you get older. As a result, you need to add protein to your diet and/or your skin care regimen; doing so will help replenish your skin cells and allow you to achieve a more ageless complexion.

One of the most well-known facts about chickpeas is that they have high levels of plant-based protein, which explains why they are a staple for many vegans and vegetarians. Chickpeas contain about 10 to 15 grams of protein, per cup. As such, when you aren’t busy eating chickpeas, you should turn some of them into chickpea flour so that your skin can absorb all of that protein, too.

"I feel so much more confident and happier about the condition of my skin now, and I’ve seen a world of difference in my skin in the last 4 months or so...I would highly recommend Apsara to you all.”

2. Chickpea Flour Mask For Acne

Chickpeas can also diminish the appearance of acne and curb any acne breakouts. Chickpeas are a good source of magnesium and zinc. Both of these minerals fulfill many essential functions for your body, one of which is the ability to combat acne. Both magnesium and zinc are anti-inflammatory. Acne is usually a sign that your skin is also suffering from inflammation; your skin starts to swell up and looks redder than normal. By using chickpea flour on your skin, magnesium and zinc can diminish this inflammation so that your skin can start to look spotless.

Plus, magnesium and zinc can regulate cortisol production. When you are experiencing stress, your body responds by increasing cortisol production; this effect forces your skin to produce an excess amount of oil, which can clog your pores and lead to more acne. Even if you are stressed out, magnesium and zinc can help your body and skin calm down so that issues like acne don’t pop up and worsen your stress levels.

3. Chickpea Flour Mask For Even Skin Tone & Glowing Skin

Chickpeas contain a good amount of antioxidants, primarily Vitamin E, polyphenols, and flavonoids. Antioxidants are important because they help neutralize free radicals and decrease inflammation. When free radicals aren’t kept under control, they can do a lot of damage to your skin cells, which can affect collagen production, skin glow, pigmentation, et cetera. You may start to see issues like lines, wrinkles, and dark spots pop up on your skin. Inflammation, on the other hand, can lead to redness, dullness, and an uneven skin tone.

Therefore, utilizing antioxidants as much as possible can help your skin look more glowing and youthful. The remedy found below consists of not only chickpea flour but also lemon juice; the Vitamin C found in lemon juice is an antioxidant that is believed to help brighten up your skin.
