The best skin remedies are the ones you know you can eat! Papaya is a nutrient-rich food that promotes health inside and out. This powerhouse fruit has many extraordinary properties that can be used to benefit the skin. From the pulp to the skin, all of this fruit’s parts can be used as a remedy. Papaya is filled with B-carotene, which is a highly effective antioxidant and possesses photoprotective properties. Papain, an enzyme found in the skin of the papaya, can be used to reduce inflammation and pain. The pulp can be used for wound healing such as healing burns and when the fruit is ripe it can be used to prevent skin diseases, psoriasis, and ringworm. With so many positive characteristics, how could we not use this fruit to keep our skin healthy, glowing, and youthful? If you have at least one papaya at home, you must try at least one of the home remedies found below, especially if you are looking to reduce the appearance of blemishes, lines, and wrinkles.

1. Get Blemish-Free Skin with Papaya & Apple Cider Vinegar

This remedy is absolutely perfect for you if you have blemishes because of its four ingredients. The first one is papaya. The skin of a papaya contains the enzyme papain. When applied to the skin, this enzyme dissolves and removes dead skin, therefore helping with exfoliation. It can be directly applied to the skin for inflammation and pain. It is also shown to have anthelmintic (destroys parasitic worms) and whitening properties.

Second, apple cider vinegar also has exfoliating properties and helps balance the pH levels of the skin. It is antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral, which prevents bacteria and pimples from forming.

The third ingredient is olive oil. Like apple cider vinegar, it has antibacterial properties and as an antioxidant, it can prevent premature aging. Olive oil has been also shown to address a variety of skin conditions including psoriasis and eczema.

Lastly, rice flour is used in this remedy to help create a uniform paste that is easily applied to the skin, but it has many skin benefits as well. It can be used to reduce the appearance of blemishes and pigmentation due to its whitening properties. Therefore, you must use this remedy to keep your skin looking glowing and youthful.

Ingredients

1 tsp. of papaya pulp

12 drops of apple cider vinegar

8 drops of olive oil

Rice flour, as needed

Instructions

Mix the papaya pulp, olive oil, and apple cider vinegar. Add enough rice flour to the mixture until you get a thick paste.

Apply across the face evenly and leave it on for 12-15 minutes. After this, wash the paste off with lukewarm water.

Use your toner, serum, and lotion right afterward.

Use this remedy once or twice a week.

“I’m loving the results. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about these products. I love them so, so, so much. You can actually feel the difference in your skin.”

2. Go Bananas with Papaya for Smooth, Hydrated Skin

Filled with papaya and banana, this face mask is a great way to nourish your skin and smell fruity! Bananas, in particular, have a wide range of skin benefits. Whether it’s lines,

wrinkles, blemishes, warts, poison ivy rashes, or bruises, bananas are rock stars when it comes to beautifying your skin. The high levels of potassium and Vitamin A make bananas great for moisturizing the skin and fading blemishes. Vitamin E also protects the skin from UV damage and helps with the aging process.

Another important ingredient in this recipe is castor oil. It has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that are perfect for acne. It is also rich in fatty acids, which restores unevenness of the skin and can promote smoothness, youthfulness, and softness.

Massaging these ingredients together into your skin increases the skin blood flow and allows the facial muscles to relax. So unwind, enjoy, and let these ingredients show you their magic!

½ tsp. of papaya pulp

The beta-carotene in papaya is a highly effective antioxidant and possesses photoprotective properties.Studies show that it can protect against UV light-mediated damage, similar to sunscreen.Kiwi is packed with many phytonutrients, vitamins, and minerals like Vitamin C. Vitamin C not only works as an antioxidant to prevent damage from environmental factors but also is responsible for the formation of collagen, which is a protein that is tremendously important in repairing the skin and keeping it firm. These vitamins also contribute to the regeneration of cells and promote youthful and glowing skin. Besides papaya and kiwi, vegetable glycerin helps hydrate the skin and moisturize all areas of the face.

Oat flour, as needed

Both the presence of papaya and lemon juice in this recipe aid the skin by diminishing inflammation and brightening the skin. The citric acid (Alpha Hydroxy Acid or AHA) in

lemon promotes exfoliation. This causes a reduction in pore size, mild acne, and blemishes. When used with other ingredients, it creates a protective coating on the skin and acts as a hydrating moisturizer. The Vitamin C in lemon protects against photoaging and anti-aging by increasing collagen synthesis.

Meanwhile, avocado is a great addition to this remedy as it contains Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A, D, and E.
