Typically, when you feel embarrassment or shame, your body responds with a blush, a bright and warm sensation in your cheek area. Even if you want no one to know your true feelings, your body is loyal to no one and it promptly sells you out to the entire world. You try to keep your body healthy, and this is the thanks you get. Well, the next time I wake up wondering whether I should go for a run, I'm going back to sleep in my comfy sweatpants.

Although people don’t blush that often, people with sensitive skin are quite the opposite. That’s because, for people with sensitive skin, redness (as well as irritation) is too common. It can be a hair trigger for some; for example, a bit too much sun can cause an immediate change in one’s complexion. However, on top of that, sensitive skin doesn’t let you off the hook with normal skin issues, such as acne and dryness; sometimes, sensitive skin just changes the intensity.

If you have sensitive skin, it is very difficult to trust any run-of-the-mill skin care product because those products can have harsh chemicals that could wreak havoc on your face. You shouldn’t have to compromise if you want clear, glowing skin. Therefore, you should be using natural ingredients instead. Although not all of them will work, there are some natural ingredients that are gentle on your skin and can improve your skin’s appearance. Here are 10 natural ingredients and home remedies that you should be using if you have sensitive skin.

1. Vegetable Glycerin for Soft & Supple Skin

If your skin is both sensitive and dry, use vegetable glycerin because it is a humectant. Humectants are substances that can attract and retain moisture to itself. When used properly, vegetable glycerin can attract moisture from the atmosphere and keep your skin hydrated and soft in the process.

Ingredients

2 tbsp. of aloe

6 drops of vegetable glycerin

Instructions

Mix ingredients together.

Apply the mixture and massage for 3 to 5 minutes. Leave it on for 10 minutes.

Wash it off with warm water. Follow with your toner, serum, and lotion.

Use 1 to 2 times a week.

2. Maple Syrup to Deeply Nourish Dry, Sensitive Skin

If you do not have vegetable glycerin, do not worry because maple syrup is also a humectant, and it can help soften and moisturize skin. Besides that, maple syrup is a source of

4. Kaolin Clay Mask to Cleanse Skin of Toxins and Impurities

Kaolin clay is an excellent cleanser for sensitive skin. It is capable of detoxifying your skin and absorbing excess oiliness. Plus, kaolin clay can lightly exfoliate your face without causing irritation. If you have sensitive skin and you have been curious about using clay, you absolutely must use Kaolin clay because it is the mildest and gentlest of all the other clays.

1 tbsp. of Kaolin clay
